Introducing Prud’homme Belgian pale ale
We released a new beer with an old name, Prudhomme, last week. This Belgian Pale Ale gets its name from Fort Prudhomme, a stockade built by the French near present-day Memphis back in 1682. This was the first structure built by the French in Tennessee and its exact location has been lost to the sands of time. (We like to think it was built where the Bass Pro Pyramid now stands.)
Prudhomme, which translates into “an honorable, upstanding man” is a refreshing beer with a moderate hop presence well balanced against its malt bill. Look for fruity notes typical of Begian styles. It’s a refreshing beer for the Memphis summer but, at 6.2 percent ABV, it gives plenty of flavor. This beer will be draft only so look for it around town this summer!
